Deedolltravel: Day 2 - Singapore 2 Days 2 Nights Getaway 2014 - Breakfast

Image
After our very short Day 1 or night 1 , Day 2 was a mission day as this is the only whole day we have in Singapore. Each one of us have goals to accomplish but we all have one common aim - to have a really nice lunch. So let's start on to our day.  We stayed in Oasia Hotel which is connected to Novena MRT station and Novena Square shopping mall through its basement. It was early 10am (after getting ready) and we have decided to hunt for breakfast in the nearby shopping mall.  We saw a bakery that's looks promising but there were no seats for us. Hence, we settled down at The Soup Spoon . The Soup Spoon serves variety of soups and sandwiches.   Foods are quite affordable and we ordered a Souper Value Meal each. The value meal include soup, a half sandwich and a beverage. And the portion was huge, we can't finished it. The interior of the shop. We were the first customers Cute design on the window and I love the lamp. So retro.   Clam cho

Drooling to Singapore best fried chicken wings? lol This is an impromptu trip to eat 4 Fingers chicken wings.  Nah, I am just kidding. But it is an impromptu trip, at least for me as I just crash my friends' Shakespeare play trip. LOL. Cut to the chase, it was a a really short trip and we all have specific goals to meet. But one goal that we all have in common is to eat 4 Fingers chicken wings!!  Let's start with the trip, it was a Friday and we catch the KLIA express (RM35 one way) to KLIA right after our quick dinner. Checked in luggage, had an ice cream and off we go.  Upon arrival at Singapore, first stop - liquor store. I guess the 70% off city price attracted us a lot. Apparently, Malaysian are not entitled to purchase duty free products upon arrival in Singapore. That's what the salespersons told the group. Hmm.. That's weird. After many rounds of clarifications, we bought our liqour and move on to our first mission.... .....4 Fingers Cris

Deedolleats: Podgy and The Banker

Image
We (me and bf) have been wanting to try Podgy and The Banker for some time as the pictures from other bloggers look nice. Being a total new blog owner (I am more active in instagram), I only remember to take picture of the food. No photos on the cafe and it's ambience. Lol #noob Well, I must say this cafe has one of the most easy going and care less ambience. Very carefree indeed. I feel like I can just stay in here for hours with a book. But nothing perfect, it can be quite annoying when you have to share a table (not many small table) with a chatty group. It was a sSaturdayand I was feeling grumpy, so I ordered a hot chocolate (RM 10) to sooth the grumpiness. The hot chocolate was very chocolaty and rich.   My breakfast was Omelette with beef bacon and mushroom at RM14.  I would prefer my omelette to have better presentation but it taste better than it looks. I would prefer to have more seasoning, that's only me.  All in all, I think the pri

Deedolleats: Tonkatsu by Ma Maison

Image
Tonkatsu literally means fried pork cutlet, usually serve with rice. One day, a group of us decided to eat pork for lunch, Asian pork that is (there was also a choice of western pork). Tonkatsu by Ma Maison came to mind. One, it is near our office. Two, some of us have not tried it before. We even saw a few Japanese families having lunch while we were there, immediate boost of confidence there. This maybe due to the fact that Tonkatsu by Ma Maison is quite popular in Japan and Singapore. The outlet has different selection of pork cut and seafood there. I particularly like the Mille Feuille Katsu (RM29.90) as I find it more juicy. All katsu comes with refillable rice, refillable cabbage and refillable Tonjiro (miso soup with pork).   Normal Mille Feuille Katsu, juicy Mille Feuille Katsu with cheese oozing out.  You can choose either white rice or multi grain rice. I super heart the multi grain rice here! Did I mention the salad sauce was yummy too.
